When the Quarantine and isolation thing happened, our family
chose to cancel our campout. I had three years of Easter prizes since I
haven't gone for the past three years. My girls were always busy and I
didn't want to go alone so I was excited to be going this year. I didn't want to store these prizes for another year so I pondered on ways that I could do something for the community. I came up with several ideas and it started with one idea but then ended up a different way.
In the end, I turned up placing all the prizes on sheets next to the
curb. I put it in the local social media pages on Facebook and shared
with my friends and neighbors through text and calls. I let everyone
know that they couldn't get out of the cars and would need to bring
wipes to clean the prizes.
I wore gloves and mask for the two days I did the giveaway. It was
fairly steady through the two days. I did it for about six hours on both
days and gave away about six banana boxes full of prizes.
I also gave away a sucker to each child putting on my gloves before I
put my hand in the bag each time.
I was super careful about distancing and protection. I got several wonderful "thank you" notes, texts, posts, and verbal expressions of gratitude. It was really nice. The prizes left in the video are after two days of giving things away. It was nice to be able to clean those things out of the house and give some people a fun way to get out of the house.
Have a Blessed Day!
