Impromptu Cover Songs by Princess Three

This past weekend, we had SO much going on. You know if you read this blog that May is my most crazy month. See a post about that here.

With everyone home for the weekend and visitors as well as graduation for Princess Four, it got a bit hectic. One night, we were all in different places and Princess one and her hubby and I were in the front room and Princess Four's boyfriend picked up a guitar and started playing. Princess Four started singing. I suggested that they get a better guitar out and actually perform for us.

I am not sure why she agreed to do it and then she allowed me to video tape it as I haven't heard her sing a solo since she was about 5 or 6. She has a beautiful voice and will sing in groups but never have I heard her sing an entire song solo and to allow me to video tape was a miracle indeed.

Here she is singing her first solo since being a small girl. I think you will agree, she is amazing. Here are the lyrics for the song she is singing.

Death Cab for Cutie - I will Follow You Into The Dark

Love of mine, some day you will die
But I'll be close behind
I'll follow you into the dark
No blinding light or tunnels to gates of white
Just our hands clasped so tight
Waiting for the hint of a spark
If Heaven and Hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs
If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark
In Catholic school as vicious as Roman rule
I got my knuckles bruised by a lady in black
And I held my tongue as she told me
"Son fear is the heart of love"
So I never went back
If Heaven and Hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs
If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark
You and me have seen everything to see
From Bangkok to Calgary
And the soles of our shoes
Are all worn down
The time for sleep is now
It's nothing to cry about
'Cause we'll hold each other soon
In the blackest of rooms
If Heaven and Hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs
If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark
Then I'll follow you into the dark

After she sang that, I suggested they do more as we were enjoying the show. Since U2 has been my favorite band for 30 years now, she picked a U2 song, "With or Without You."  She did such a great job, I couldn't help sharing it. Here is the link to it on youtube if the video doesn't play on this site.

U2 - With or Without You

See the stone set in your eyes
See the thorn twist in your side
I wait for you
Sleight of hand and twist of fate
On a bed of nails she makes me wait
And I wait without you
With or without you
With or without you
Through the storm we reach the shore
You gave it all but I want more
And I'm waiting for you
With or without you
With or without you
I can't live
With or without you
And you give yourself away
And you give yourself away
And you give
And you give
And you give yourself away
My hands are tied, my body bruised
She's got me with
Nothing to win and
Nothing left to lose
And you give yourself away
And you give yourself away
And you give
And you give
And you give yourself away
With or without you
With or without you
I can't live
With or without you

With or without you
With or without you
I can't live
With or without you
With or without you
Ooooooooo
Ooooooooo
Ooooooooo
With or without you
With or without you
I can't live
With or without you
With or without you

I was so tired after having everyone here this weekend and am just finishing up the sheets and towels in the laundry and didn't want to take a long time to post but the uploads are taking some time. Hope you enjoy the show as much as I do. I wish she would share more of her talent with us and others as she is so talented. I am so grateful that she shared it with us and that she has been given such an amazing talent. She has always been able to harmonize well and hasn't had any formal training. I have one talented (actually five) girl!
