A New Favorite Game Called SwashBuckled - Sailing the High Seas

A few years ago, I found a game at a second hand store that looked fun. I ended up purchasing the game and my girls and I have LOVED the game since then.
It is a cross between Settlers Of Catan and a Ticket To Ride games. This one takes place on the ocean. You are either a Pirate, a Lord in the Navy, or a merchant. Your goal is to get from your port to a new port in a different continent. There are pirate islands that give you clues to a pirates treasure located somewhere in the world and it changes depending on the dice rolls.

There are fights on the high seas between 2 pirates, or pirates looting merchants, or the Lords taking over the pirates. It can change quickly. It can be played with up to six players.

The goal for all players is to get from port to port without being attacked. Each round you get a different cargo and depending on how far you have to travel and what cargo you are carrying, is how much money you make on that trip.

When you get to the destination port, you get the money for the cargo. The goal is to get to $100,000 or you can determine an amount of money. There are some fun twists in the game when you pick up "pirate" cards, and you also never know after reaching your destination if you are going to be a pirate, Lord, or merchant until your next turn.

I have seen games with NO sea battles, and I have played games so heated that there are battles every turn. It really is a super fun game and you can order it from the company on their website. Princess Two had a friend order the game for her and she got a personal note from the owners.

I don't know how they can get the word out on this fun game, but I thought I would share in case you and your family are looking for a fun game the entire family can play. I do think younger children can play the game with help, but I think about age 9 and up could figure the game out fairly quickly.

It does take a minute to figure out the rules and how to play but the instruction booklet was very clear and descriptive and we have never had a question that wasn't answered in the booklet.

The company name is called "Fun at Home Games" and you can go to their website linked here.

We LOVE this game and it has become one of our favorites. The game is about $45 on their website. It is well worth the cost. We have played it each time someone comes home to visit as the game of choice.

Have a Blessed Day!
