Removing Snaps from Clothes - T-Shirt Quilt

Last August I made a snoopy quilt for Princess Three to take to college. During that time, I took pictures of how I removed the snaps off the little outfits my girls wore when they were babies and wanted to make them into a quilt square. 
 
I finished the quilt and never posted how to get the eyelets off of the jumpers so they wouldn't be bulky on the quilt.

To get the snaps off, you can use a small flat screw driver or a flat knife.
 
You carefully slip the flat edge underneath the edge of the snap and make sure that the fabric isn't getting pinched. 

At this point, you twist the tip of one side of the tip up and the other down applying pressure to one side of the snap.

The snap should start to lift at this point and you may need to put the screw driver into the opposite side of the snap and twist it as well.
 
If you do it carefully, there shouldn't be any tearing in the fabric if you move slowly.

The cute jumpers bring back some memories of the girls being little and it is nice that they are on the quilt. 
 
If you want, you can leave the flat side of the snap on the fabric for effect but know that if they are metal, it will be hot coming out of the dryer and also, they can leave marks if you lay on it.
